I think I've been with State Farm for 40+ years, first in CA, and then with John Goldsmith in VA since 2011. I had some speeding tickets Back in CA before I got married, and I had minor body work done about six years ago when I hit a deer in the dark in VA. That's it.

Four years ago I switched from State Farm to Erie, because I was upset that State Farm decided to embrace woke politics. Then in the last two years, we filed two claims with Erie: one to replace our roof due to hail damage, and one to replace our wood flooring due to a super-slow dishwasher leak that was undetectable until the basement ceiling showed a soft spot. Erie sent us a cancellation letter, which included a comment saying we should have been more responsible. I shall attempt to stop the hail going forward, thank you very much Erie. And we put a pan under our new dishwasher.

When we contacted our broker, Truslow-Yost, that sold us our Erie policy, they said the best they could do was to turn us over to Virginia state insurance. That was the worst of all options. So we contacted John Goldsmith of State Farm and asked what they could do. The answers were immediate, painless, and comparably priced. I guess State Farm looked at our track record and felt we were responsible.

So I have a few things to say: 1) John Goldsmith is very helpful. 2) It pays to stay with State Farm as their insurance policies are priced fairly, and they look at your entire track record. 3) Mr. Jon Farney, CEO of State Farm, stick to insurance, don't meddle in politics, and you will get and keep more loyal customers that way.
